Can you tell us a bit about your work in THIS IS issue 1? I sketched these two pieces on the plane to Australia in January. I’ve actually done some of my best work while flying as I’m free from distractions with a lot of time to kill! They are both drawings of pictures of the London Underground - one of a ripped poster I thought looked cool and the other of the reflection of the tube in a curved mirror. I love the architecture, engineering and vibe of the tube and find it a great source of inspiration.

What kind of things do you try to address in the work you make? I often draw as a way to entertain and distract myself rather than for something. However art has always been such an important platform to reach out to and inform people and I hope one day I can use my artwork for a good cause.

Who is one of your least favourite artists piece of work? There’s one room in the Tate modern that has a white canvas on one wall and a white square on the other and it kind of pisses me off.

Which art work/piece of writing inspires the work that you like to make? I think films inspire me more than writing, I like drawing the characters and stills. I also take a lot of inspiration from instagram as I follow heaps of funky artists and illustrators.

Your go-to Karaoke song? I think I’m too awkwardly British to really enjoy karaoke but the one time I did it I sang Champagne Supernova.

Is courgette a fruit or a vegetable? I googled this and shockingly it's a fruit….Everything I’ve ever known is a lie.
